Nature has a lot to offer. Yet for me (and many other people) wood and ceramics remain the most beautiful products. This is because they are mostly natural, sustainable products that can often be reused. While orienting I came across some specially used wood, such as: old wagon boards, old sleepers, and my favorite: the old cheese board. In addition, there are of course also various new types of wood available, such as mango wood, olive wood, teak and cork. These are also all sustainable types of wood.
Portugal is known for its colorful ceramic crockery and traditional tiles on the facades of houses. These are all handmade and that makes each one unique. How nice is it to combine these two products in, for example, a tapas board. And during my search I found out that with cork much more is possible than a simple stopper on a wine bottle. This material has a lot of potential for everyday use items.
